Bio of Nancy Lane, CMA, Owner

If it’s true that the “lucky ones” find their place in life at a young age, then I’m one of the lucky ones. One of my high school teachers noticed my skill with organization and numbers, so I moved forward to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and later a Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) certification.

My over 40 years of accounting experience includes a wide range of successful companies such as a CPA firm, commercial service companies, specialty contractors and several medium and large manufactures.

From my first job, I’ve always enjoyed learning new accounting techniques. Likewise, I’m constantly creating new accounting efficiencies as well as streamlining all accounting department tasks. My first accounting department only grew minimally over 7 years while the company grew by more than 10 times. My accounting computer skills with MAS90 were so good that the computer consultant took the unprecedented action to give me the “back door” codes to do my own troubleshooting. After my departure from that job, the accounting department staffing was immediately more than doubled in size to handle the workload.

Computer software interface was always a strength of mine from my earliest career. Due to fast company growth, several times I was needed to oversee extensive accounting department software upgrades. My upgrade projects were all implemented on time and under budget; an unusual feat in the 90’s and early 2000’s and sometimes today.

My hiring, training and management skills have increased significantly over the years. My seminars attended for staffing and other accounting skills are for too numerous to fully list on my two-page resume. In addition to my accounting skills, I’ve enjoyed deep involvement in other related areas such as banking functions (including lines of credit), insurance coverages, internal and external coordination of IT functions and international money transfers including Letters of Credit.

My personal hobbies include fitness, hiking, and cooking. My husband and I met in college in Southern California and have been married for over 38 years.

Please see the attached employment history for further detail involving my experience and accomplishments.
